Gardening In November

Farmer's Market - Pumpkins Plus

Gardening in November is SO Southern California.  There are many other places around the country where Gardening in November is good, but in Southern California Gardening in November is amazing!

November is a great time to be in California in general, the weather has cooled and the days are rivaling our wonderful mornings and evenings.  The soil is still warm, and it is a great time to get things into the ground.  Planting in the fall is excellent there are less insects, and the cooler weather allows us here to plant both cool season vegetables and YES winter annuals which is why Gardening in November is so much fun.   I know that it is not all that politically correct to plant annuals with the drought, but I think a well placed pansy or twenty in containers or in your vegetable beds are a burst of sunshine for your garden.

This month, I have finally found time for working on my own lawn removal project, this is a great time of the year to get the lawn out  and start that sheet mulching project.  Keep your eyes open, I’ll show you how it is done.

Here is  your  list of Gardening Tasks for November in Southern California.  Get out there in the dirt and have fun!
